The teenage years can be tough for so many young people. Dealing with friends, family issues, pressures, and, generally, just trying to deal with life can be really hard.
Talking to a counsellor can help you feel less alone. Your counsellor is there to focus on you and what you need (even if you don't know what that is yet!). Some teens find that counselling helps when they are trying to problem-solve a difficult situation with their friends or family. Others find it helpful to just have a non-judgmental person to talk to who really “gets them”. Some youth meet with their counsellor in the office, but others prefer to go for a walk together while talking. And some teens don’t feel comfortable talking as much, so they might also do some art or games, so they don’t feel like they are “in the spotlight”.
If you’re not sure if counselling is right for you, you can do a 15-minute video chat to meet one of our counsellors. Then you can decide if you want to give it a try. Our counsellors would never force you to be there if you don’t want to.
